Thread Lift Sydney - Silhouette Soft Insta Lift

A Thread Lift can help with facial cosmetic concerns.

If you’re unsatisfied with the results of Facial Volume Treatments but don’t feel ready for a Facelift (Rhytidectomy), then this procedure could be a solution for you. PDO threads are often considered a compromise between Non-Surgical Wrinkle Treatments and Surgical Facial Procedures.

Thread Lift with Dr Hunt

Threads have been around for many years, but recent developments in technology with newer dissolving, absorbable threads now offer an alternative for patients who are not quite ready for Facelift Surgery (Rhytidectomy). There are a variety of options including PDO Threads, Aptos Threads and Silhouette Soft Threads.

What Is Thread Lift?

Generally speaking, suitable patients for this procedure would be in their 30s to 40s and the results will last for a few years. The procedure can be suitable for patients who are no longer seeing good results from Facial Volume Treatments but are not quite ready for a Full Surgical Facelift (Rhytidectomy). It can be a short-term solution.

The Silhouette Soft Threads used during this procedure are made from a material that dissolves over 18 months. During this time, it holds the skin tissue in a more elevated position and can generate new collagen as it dissolves.

The procedure is relatively simple and is performed in Dr Hunt’s practice under local anaesthetic. It takes approximately 1 hour and patients can typically return to work and normal activities within 48 hours.

Some results may be visible immediately, but the full results will be seen over time. The procedure can be repeated a few years later if you are still not ready for a Surgical Rhytidectomy. It is important to remember that the results are not as dramatic or long-lasting as surgery, but it can be that transitional link between non-surgical and surgical facial treatments.

Benefits of Silhouette Soft Thread Liftv

A Silhouette Soft Thread Lift may come with the following benefits:

  • Thread Lift is a minimally invasive procedure, which means there is less downtime than after surgeries
  • Results of the Facial Thread Lift procedure continue to become visible with time
  • Most patients are able to return back to back to work within 2 days of the procedure, unlike surgery, which involves a longer recovery
  • The results of the treatment are often longer-lasting than Volume Treatments

Is Silhouette Soft Thread Lift Right for Me?

Silhouette Soft Thread Lift surgery is a highly customisable procedure. Dr Hunt will assess your facial features, medical history, and general health and plan a treatment that is suited to you.

Generally speaking, you may be a good candidate for Silhouette Soft Thread Lift if:

  • You are experiencing early signs of ageing and skin laxity
  • You are looking for a mild to moderate level of elevation & lifting
  • You don’t have any severe signs of ageing like severe skin laxity or prominent jowls
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You are over 18 years of age
  • You don’t have an autoimmune disease

About Silhouette Soft Thread Lift

Silhouette Soft Thread Lift involves placing a thin biodegradable thread under the skin to treat skin laxity and descent of facial tissue due to ageing.

After carefully assessing your skin, Dr Hunt will inform you about the Thread Lift Procedure, results, and what to expect from the treatment.

When you come in for the treatment, you’ll have the opportunity to complete the consenting process. Your face will be cleaned thoroughly to ensure there are no traces of dirt and makeup on your face. Then, your face will be numbed using local anaesthesia. The entire procedure should take around 45 minutes. Dr Hunt will carefully place the threads under the skin with the help of a fine needle and pass them under the skin in the direction of the intended lift. Your skin will be lightly massaged upward where the cones hold the sutures in place. Once the procedure is complete, it is best to rest for at least a few hours.

Silhouette Soft Thread Lift Aftercare

It is best to take 2 to 3 days off from work and avoid strenuous activities and social engagements. Please follow the aftercare instructions given by Dr Hunt.

Most patients experience mild swelling and bruising around the area treated, which can last from a few days to a week.

Please adhere to these instructions after treatment:

  • Take painkillers prescribed by Dr Hunt to help with any discomfort post-surgery
  • Sleep on your back with your head in a slightly elevated position and avoid putting any pressure on the treatment site
  • Be very careful and gentle while washing, shaving, and drying your face. Do not rub your skin
  • It is best to avoid wearing makeup for at least 24 to 48 hours after the treatment
  • Do not get any facial massages or aesthetic treatments for 4 weeks after the treatment
  • Stay clear of high-intensity workouts for at least 2 weeks after the treatment
  • Do not use saunas and steam rooms for at least 3 weeks
  • Avoid visiting the dentist for at least a month after treatment

Most patients are able to resume work within a couple of days without any problem. The precise downtime varies from patient to patient, and Dr Hunt will advise you accordingly.

Results of Silhouette Soft Thread Lift

The threads used are made up of polylactic acid which should dissolve on its own within several months. Thread Lifts can provide long-term results that last for around 2 years. To maintain the results, most people get the treatment redone every few years.

The results of the Silhouette Thread Lift depend on your exact treatment and shouldn’t be compared to a Traditional Facelift Surgery. Other factors that impact the longevity of results include age, skin thickness, laxity and number of threads. To help achieve your desired results, you should adhere to post-treatment care recommendations.

You should discuss your expected results with Dr Hunt before treatment to ensure your expectations are realistic.

How to Find a Good Thread Lift Surgeon in Sydney

Choosing the right surgeon for your Thread Lift Facial Procedure is one of the most important steps.

An experienced plastic surgeon can help you achieve results and minimise the risks and complications (although not eliminate risks completely).

Make sure to take your time in choosing the right plastic surgeon for your Thread Lift. The plastic surgeon should be someone you can connect with and speak freely and honestly about your goals and expectations. You can start the process by creating a list of surgeons in your area based on their credentials and experience. Next, you can narrow down the list by looking at their online reviews.

Make sure to look at the before and after photographs of different patients. You can either find them on the surgeon’s website or request them during the consultation.

Last but not least, trust your gut. Pay attention to how you feel and connect with a particular surgeon. Do you feel comfortable? Is the surgeon able to answer all your queries? Do you trust them with your face? If the answer is yes, choose that surgeon. Otherwise, keep looking.

How Many Times Can You Have a Thread Lift?

There is no set number of times you need a Thread Lift. Generally, surgeons recommend getting a follow-up treatment every 12 to 24 months to maintain their results.

What Are the Risks and Complications of Thread Lift?

How Does Threadlifting with Silhouette Soft Work?

Silhouette Soft is made from resorbable polylactic acid sutures, which dissolve to help stimulate your skin’s own collagen production. The threads are inserted under the skin using a needle (without any incisions), to target skin laxity in certain areas. Local anaesthetic is used at the entry and exits points. Once they have been inserted the skin can be compressed and reshaped according to the patient’s desired effect.

How Long Do Thread Lifts Last?

The results can last over 1 year, driven by the collagen stimulation around the suture and cone structures. However, each patient is different and may experience a different longevity in their results.

Is a Silhouette Soft Thread Lift Safe?

Silhouette Soft is a minimally invasive treatment to be used by a trained practitioner. Despite providing positive outcomes for many patients, every procedure has risks.

Are There Any Side Effects of Threadlifting?

Patients can experience minor pain, swelling and bruising, common side effects with any aesthetic treatment.

Slight skin depressions or tightness can occur for a few days following the treatment, but these are typically short-lived. You may discuss the risks in more detail with Dr Hunt.

What Is the Recovery Period After Threadlifting?

The downtime for a Silhouette Soft Treatment is minimal. As with other cosmetic procedures, you may experience some mild bruising or swelling and can go back to work within 2-3 days.
